Travelling exhibition The Nature of Art Nouveau at the Villa Darvas-La Roche in Oradea

24/03/2016

The Nature of Art Nouveau reveals the role that nature had in the Art Nouveau and how much it was the source of inspiration for the artists at the turn of 19th to 20th century.

Conceived by the Catalan art historian Teresa-M. Sala, The Nature of Art Nouveau is an exhibition based on both encyclopedic information and individual experimentation.
Using photographs and documents, together with a dynamic scenography created by Antoni Garau, it offers a concise view of Art Nouveau yet also aims to bring vividly to life the “perfumes, sounds and hues” of the natural world.

Organised by the Réseau Art Nouveau Network in the framework of the European project “Art Nouveau & Ecology” (2010-2015) supported by the Culture 2007-2013 programme of the European Commission, the exhibition comprises two identical concurrent exhibitions and travels to all partner cities since October 2013.

After Subotica, the exhibition The Nature of Art Nouveau is presented in Oradea at the Villa Darvas-La Roche from 24 March 2016.

This exhibition is free.
