Exhibition To freshly dare the new! at Mathildenhöhe Darmstadt

21/10/2018 > 24/02/2019

ON THE OCCASION OF GRAND DUKE ERNST LUDWIG’S 150TH BIRTHDAY

From October 21, 2018 to February 24, 2019, the Institut Mathildenhöhe Darmstadt will celebrate the 150th birthday of Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig of Hesse and by Rhine with an exhibition in the Ernst Ludwig House, today’s Artists’ Colony Museum. The exhibition will not be biographical in nature, but will feature the creative work of the multi-talented Grand Duke.

This first-of-its-kind exhibition will present a multifaceted compilation of the Grand Duke’s poems, musical compositions, theatre plays, expressive watercolors, philanthropic projects, as well as public relations activities.

Thus, the exhibition will illustrate the often-quoted guiding principle of Ernst Ludwig: “Have reverence for the past and the courage to freshly dare the new.”
